Collaborative Teaching Symposium

Designed for and by education professionals, the 3-day summer symposium offers a focused opportunity for teachers to reflect on their craft, hone their skills, and develop stronger collegial relationships to foster ongoing professional development.

Collaborative Teaching Symposium (CTS)

The Collaborative Teaching Symposium (CTS) is an intensive summer opportunity for educators at any stage in their career that focuses on classroom observation followed by non-judgmental feedback in order to inform best practices, build collaboration skills, and develop faculty of all disciplines and experience. .

Symposium topics include:

  • Pedagogical skills directly relevant to teaching, observing, and evaluating

  • Classroom observation and evaluation templates

  • Ongoing professional development with the cohort of CTS classmates, including video and online resources, for continued growth and learning

  • Ability to onboard your school administrators and departments to continue CTS methods and learning in-house post institute participation

  • An invitation to participate in a CTS alumni network to help support ongoing professional development and resources.

The Collaborative Teaching Symposium Reader (will be supplied at the Symposium) - Readings to include selections from such educational thought leaders: Stephen Brookfield, Alfie Kohn, Angela Duckworth, Daniel Willingham, Jennifer Roberts, Annie Murphy Paul, Paul Tough, and others.
